Named after Kilburn Priory, a Benedictine nunnery founded in 1130 and dissolved by Henry VIII in 1536. The pub has stood on this site since at least 1927. George Orwell drank here while writing Animal Farm in 1942-44. Formerly a Truman's pub; reopened in April 2018 after refurbishment.
